Due to technical difficulties, there is no audio for this sermon based on Hebrews 13:1-8, 15-16.
We are reminded that because of unfailing, unshakable and unconditional love of God - we are called to LOVE. Love is the riskiest venture a person can undertake. Real love is sacrificial as opposed to emotional. Jesus calls us to consider love as "faith in action." As Christians, our faith challenges us to choose the most loving response in each of our interactions with others. We also recognize faith is a gift that gives us the courage, the will and determination to choose love where others might choose hate.
C.S, Lewis in "Mere Christianity" wrote:
"Do not waste your time bothering whether you 'love' your neighbor. Act as if you did. As soon as we do this, we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him. If you injure someone you dislike, you will find yourself disliking him more. If you do him a good turn, you will find yourself disliking him less."
"Hate, it has caused a lot of problems in the world, but has not solved one yet." ~ Maya Angelou.
"Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it....Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."
~Hebrews 13
"When you give a banquet, invite to poor, the crippled, the lame and the blind. And you will be blessed because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."
~Jesus (Luke 14:13-14)
